It is caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) which practically shuts down the human body by attacking the immune system.

What is the origin of AIDS?

The first case of AIDS was reported in June 5, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. However, that was only the first recognition of the disease - its first victims are reported as far back as 1959. Sexually Transmitted Diseases were already present at that time, but none were as deadly as this one.

How exactly the virus originated is not known for fact, though theories say it may have transferred from other primates such as chimpanzees in the Congo - it may have been through a single scratch, or it may have been through their flesh eaten by humans. No one knows anything for sure. Since it's recognition on '81, though, the disease has managed to kill more than 39 million people all over the world. In 2005 itself, approximately 5,70,000 children died from the virus.

What's an Immune System?

The Immune System is that part of our body which fights diseases. The main soldiers who keep our bodies safe from diseases are called antibodies. Even when we aren't actually ill, there's virtually a war going on inside our bodies that keeps us safe from hazards in the environment: Dust particles that we accidentally breathe, common cold, wounds, scratches, infections, rapid fluctuations in body temperature, etc. These defense mechanisms are what keeps us alive, day in and day out.

A perfect example to describe how antibodies work is Chickenpox. When you catch the disease once, you get put into quarantine wherein it gets cured by itself. And once that happens it is a very, very, very rare chance that you'll ever catch it again. this is because our body creates anti-bodiesagainst the virus, and prevents future attacks even before the infection begins. This, in a nutshell, is the job of the Immune System - to fight diseases and prevent future attacks.

So what happens when someone becomes HIV positive?

Simple - The virus shuts the Immune System down. And without it, everything in our environment that was previously kept at bay by the antibodies is now free to use our human body as a playground. Eventually, the immune system fails completely, and the body succumbs to infection, resulting in death.

Is there a cure?

The short answer is no. However, medical science has recently put together a treatment known as Highly Active Anti Retroviral Therapy (HAART) that can increase survival time for almost up to 12 years. But the treatment is not permanent, and eventual death from Immuno Deficiency is inevitable.

How long can a person survive after being infected with HIV?

It depends. The retrovirus can lie dormant in a body for upto ten years before becoming active. Once it 'wakes up', though, the average life expectancy is 9 to 10 months. With HAART treatment it can be extended, though for how long, even the experts have no idea.

How does HIV spread?

Important fact: HIV does NOT spread through physical contact! Touching someone who has HIV, or eating or working with him, will not spread the disease to your body. The most common means of transgression are:

1) Sex, or, more precisely, exchange of bodily fluids like semen, vaginal fluid, etc.

2) Coming into contact with an infected person's blood.

3) From mother to child. A pregnant mother who has AIDS is likely to give birth to an infected baby, or, later, the virus may transfer through the mother's breast milk. The chances of infecting the child are somewhere between 12 to 35 %. However, with today's therapy, the mother can be treated during pregnancy to give a safe birth, and if she does not breast-feed her child, chances can be brought down to 1%.

4) Use of common hypodermic needles between two or more individuals. One guy shoots himself up fulla drugs, the guy next to him says, "Yo, bro, gimme some shit, too, man!", and he grabs the same syringe and uses it to shoot up drugs for himself. Here there's no may; not even a tiniest measure of uncertainty. It's the one guaranteed cock-sure way of getting yourself infected.

How can AIDS be prevented?

Prevention, as they say, is always better than cure. And since AIDS doesn't even have a cure, prevention is our only way to stop the disease. AIDS can be prevented by taking some very simple basice precautions:

1) Use Condoms.

2) If an infected person around you is wounded, do not touch his or her blood with your bare hands. Use gloves.

3) Mother to Child - transgression can be prevented with good treatment.

4) Don't do drugs.

For more visit:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AIDS

First-time Sex

Believe it or not, everyone gets nervous the first time. And the nightmare problem with first time sex is this: premature ejaculation.

Almost everyone comes too early when losing their virginity. While starting out, boys try to hold it in by thinking of anything from baseball to Mission Impossible gunfights. I tell you this does not work. And not only that, it takes away whatever little pleasure you're getting, too. The best advice I can give you is this - make the foreplay last as long as you can, and put off contacting her body with your penis till the last moment. You don't lose control until the actual rubbing of the organ starts. And oh - don't let her suck your thing, because the first time chances are that it'll take all the fight out of your turtle.

The 'Do' things:

* Ease into the sex. Don't pull off your pants too early - tell her how sexy she is, kiss her, and stroke her in the following places - breasts, hips, genitals, and the inside of her thighs. Stroking and kissing are excellent ways to build up the environment, and because you don't need to take off your clothes for that, they can be even done in public (but don't be too open about it), like at a party or a dance, to get both of you into the mood by the time you get back home (or to the back seat of your car, though that's becoming less and less common these days).

* Smell her hair. Again, sounds wierd as hell, but women, in general, are very proud of their hairdos. It's common knowledge that they spent huge amounts of money and hours and hours in front of the mirror fixing up hair, and most men don't even notice it. So if/when you stroke her hair, smell it, kiss her head, and tell how soft and silky her hair is, and how it smells so beautiful, she warms up to you.

* Use Condoms. I'll be repeating those two words any million number of times I can, because in the world we live in, it's necessary, especially on the first time.

The 'Don't' Things:

* Don't - Rub yourself against her while kissing. Gaurantees a premature ejaculation. She does need to feel your erection, though. So doing it a little won't hurt. But don't do it for too long at a stretch, and if you feel yourself losing control, ease up.

* Don't - Ask questions. Warning: This is a damn sure turnoff! It is possible that you may be having it for the first time with someone experienced, and if so, don't ask questions like - "Uhm.. should I put it in like this, or like this?" Asking questions is good and I normally don't discourage it, but this kind behaviour will probably result in you getting ditched first thing in the morning. Hell, maybe even on the spot.
If you do have doubts, clear them before the big event. If in case it happens all of a sudden and you were unable to clear whatever doubts you had, then there's only one good way out - get your ego down and let the girl take control.

* Don't - Give instructions. What I said above works both ways. If your partner is someone who's doing it for the first time, don't bark orders like "No, you should turn that way so I can put it here, okay? It may hurt a bit, but - " The woman's not your goddamn instrument! Stuff like that is only likely to make her even more nervous than she already is, and it takes away their pleasure of exploring and experimenting. If she's doing something wrong, simply adjust your body into the correct position. She'll get the message.

* Don't - Fall asleep right away. After sex, most of us just turn the other way and start snoring z's. This is mainly because men get more tired after sex (yeah, well, we're doing most of the work, aren't we?) and because at orgasm, at the moment of release, your body relaxes completely. But that doesn't mean you have to go to dreamland the moment it's over. Hold her close. Kiss her, stroke her, and yes - smell her hair. If you can't help nodding off right away, cuddle her in your arms while falling asleep.

FAQ

What is the All About Sex blog?

The site is, in all meanings of the expression, a reference point for anyone who wants to know something about sex. In this age of STDs and HIV, spreading awareness is the only way to ensure a check over the said diseases, and we deliver on that.

Why do you host files in rapidshare?

Simple. We do not have server space of our own. And P.S: you can bypass the waiting time between downloads by resetting your internet connection.

Can I ask my questions and doubts about sex?

Sure. Email them to webmaster_x@yahoo.com and make sure you put "Question" in the subject column.

How can I play .FLV files?

Most of our files can be played in realplayer, but the .FLV files (Most of our lesbian videos are in this format) can be played only in FLVplayer or with Media Player Classic. FLV player does not have full screen option, so I recommend MPC. Click on the link below to download and install.

http://my.opera.com/denizt/blog/2007/04/24/playing-flv-files-with-media-player-classic

Can I contribute videos and pictures to the All About Sex Blog?

Either attatch your files to an email and send them to us, or, if the file is too big, upload it in Rapidshare or any other good hosting site like Megaupload, Mediafire, etc. and send us the link with "Contribution" in the subject column. So before you jump into bed with a woman, here are certain things that need to be kept in mind:

I) First and foremost : ALWAYS USE A GODDAMN CONDOM!!! I cannot even begin to stress how important this is - mainly for two reasons: One, it prevents the spread of STDs, and Two: it avoids accidental pregnancies. As far as possible, try to avoid having sex without a condom with anyone other than your wife or you might totally screw up your life and hers. We see movies about illegitimate kids growin' up and having revenge on their big, bad, irresponsible daddies - you don't want that happening to you, do you?

II) Before you move into the actual intercourse, go for foreplay. Kissing, especially, can go on for quite a long time without you shooting off earlier than you like. Trust me, I know from experince. Some couples like bathing together before they have sex, some like dancing. And don't forget the more conventional methods like hugging, licking each others bodies, breast-sucking, eating food off each other's bodies(icecream works especially good for me), rubbing each other in secret places, etc. (Yes, these are all normal, don't worry about it!) Remember, the better the foreplay, the better the orgasm!

III) Don't turn off the lights. Enjoy the sight of each others' bodies. Compliment her.

IV) Be gentle. A little pain is a part of sex, and it in fact adds to the pleasure, but don't go straight into the grabbing and the hardcore squeezing; it turns most women off. Begin gently and then slowly increase pressure wherever you want to. Try this: start with holding her close and tight, kiss her neck and face, and before you start mouth-tomouth kissing, gently blow on her cheeks and earlobe. I know that sounds wierd as hell, but trust me, most women love it.

V) Talk to each other. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!! Find what exactly turns your parnter on, and try to deliver her fantasies. But remember one thing: The WORST time to talk about sex is when you're in bed, or, worse still, when you're lying back after the two of you have just HAD sex. The best time, in my opinion, is on a romantic date, sitting opposite each other at a candlelit table. With a couple of glasses of wine or champagne consumed, ease the topic gently into the conversation, like, "Hey, do like having sex like 'so-and so'?"

The immediate reaction will be a shocked look which 99% turns into a shy smile, and she'll say "Shut up!" or something similar. Respond with a grin and "Come on, so what do you like, then?". Two warning notes: Use variations of the above example and not the exact sentences, and don't press the subject too hard.

ADDITIONAL TIP: Touch her even when you're not having sex. A quick kiss, a hug, or stroking and rubbing at any given time of the day makes her feel sexy and wanted.
